This month, I kept it simple. I stuck to my routine, rested, and busied myself with other projects. I kept searching and hoping for a good idea to strike me all month, one that excited me as much as last month’s topic and it finally came. Not in time for this month’s newsletter, but I think the wait will be worth it. Sometimes writer’s block happens, and I don’t feel bad especially because I remember that Toni Morrison said You shouldn’t write through it. it’s blocked because it ought to be blocked because you haven’t got it right now.
While there wasn’t much to get dressed for, there was a lot of work being done. This month, I worked on a styling project which I’m excited to share with you in this newsletter.
I have been a shopping addict— I mean, vintage collector since I was in high school. A hobby that developed out of necessity because shopping second hand was always cheaper especially for a broke student, but also out of my grandmother’s love for clothes.
She was a seamstress and worked as a tailor out of our kitchen where she would set up her sewing machine next to the stove and sing loudly as her machine clicked away.
I love clothes because she loved clothes, so we mainly bonded over shopping. As shallow as that sounds, I learned a lot about her in all those hours spent in Macy’s and Goodwill. Due to this habit, my closet grew quickly and I understood the importance of cyclical fashion.
Like most people, when their closet gets too big I either donate what I don’t wear or sell it online. I’ve always used Depop or Poshmark to resell, but since Depop removed seller fees, it’s the only platform I use.
Within the last few years, my inventory has grown quite a lot, and I made the move to start listing it more thoughtfully under my shop name, Bug goods. Which was recently rebranded to just Bug.
Bug is a term of endearment used by my friends and I to describe anything that it cute or adorable. It was coined by my friend Isa (take a shot every time I mention her in a post), as she would always refer to my late dog, Opie, as bug. Opie became the mascot for Shop Bug and thus, the Depop shop was born.

Styling Becca was so fun, and she selfishly made me want to hoard all of my clothes after seeing her wear them better than me.
Some of my favorite looks from this drop are the sheer silk skirts, the menswear, and the mix of sporty and feminine. Which is a lot of what my wardrobe consists of.
I’ve noticed lately that sheer silks have been trending more often, and they’ve definitely been on my mood boards for a while. The creme silk skirt pictured here is vintage Papaya. It fit Becca so well she bought it on the spot and I hope she gets to wear it for years to come.
Shopping links
Since thrifting that last month, sheer has been in my search list ever since. Here are some of the sheer silks I’ve been liking lately. This black DKNY petite. A Stunning Ralph Lauren two-piece silk dress. Another cutie black silk. Ok, hear me out… she could be really fun on a holiday, on a beach resort at dinner with tanned skin. Run to the Ssense sale rn, the Gimaguas Cala midi skirt is on sale! Not a silk, but still gauzey so close enough.More silk moments in this Byfonseca pant. Not silk, but definitely a beautiful sheer dress by Nadine Mos I’ll leave you with this one as food for thought on fit. She’s pricey, but the way it flows, and hits just perfectly at the knee, that’s what you should be looking for.
Another favorite this month, and definitely this year, is bangles, bracelets, cuffs, all of the above. I was in the market for a clear, lucite one. here are some options I’ve found. This yellow one. A red one as well. Again, a clear one. Something about a clear arm cuff or bracelet is so interesting to me.
Other accessories I’ve liked this month, are wooden clutches in this rectangular shape, maybe not this particular print but I haven’t found quite the perfect one yet. Also, beaded flapper hats . Scrunchies too, this one by the brand Pauluschkaa and this MNZ j crew collab.
I featured quite a few of my favorite independent brands up top, and if you’re interested I may just make a whole post about small brands that I love.
Predictions
I’m not one to like this type of fashion prediction content because dressing up as a medium is extremely cyclical. What I will say though, is that I’m really enjoying clear, lucite, accessories. Something about a clear bangle or bracelet is really doing it for me right now. A clear, colorful earring maybe a hoop would be my next purchase.
Also, grommets. I love grommets as well.
Here I am wearing some of the aforementioned links/likes.

I’d like to end this by saying, If I owe you some sort of styling consultation, I will follow back up with you soon, I haven’t forgotten about the weddings you’ll be attending soon and would love to help you source for those dates! Besos x
